Ambassador Chimezie Okeoma Ogu is the 5th consul general of the Nigeria consulate general in shanghai in the people’s republic of China. Before his appointment as Honourable consul general of the Nigeria mission in Shanghai.
Amb. Ogu also served his country oversea posting in a different capacity in Rome and Germany, where he represented the country very well.
Diplomatic career as a mid-career officer in the ministry of foreign affairs, Abuja. On joining the diplomatic service, he served in various managerial positions and capacities as head and acting director in different divisions and departments where he excelled including the posting Division, first United Nations division, Asia and Pacific Division, and African Union Division of the foreign ministry.
Amb. Ogu obtained his higher education from the University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria, where he obtained a BA (Hons.) Degree in history in 1992 and MSc in international relations from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2001. The hon. consul also attended the Nigerian Foreign Service Academy in Lagos, Geneva center for policy and security studies, midcareer course for African diplomats in Beijing in 2014. the officer performed brilliantly well in participating in these courses and won laurels for his country.
Amb. Ogu hails from Imo state and is married with three children; two girls, and a boy.
The officer’s hobbies are football, lawn tennis, and table tennis.
